I’m most challenged by how much pressure I put on myself to work my best in the classroom. There [are] so many aspects of the STEM that you have to push yourself continually, you have to continually get better and better.”
— Sarah Kwapnioski, Columbus High School student
This mentality has helped the Mechatronics and Robotics student focus on her work in the school’s STEM Academy, a program with expanded curriculum offerings and dual credit opportunities for students interesting in pursuing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) careers.
As one of 20 students in the country selected to go to the 2017 PREFACE program at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York, Sarah represents one of the many Columbus High students finding success in the STEM Academy, a measure that exemplifies how support of this program has expanded student opportunities.
