“Having a partnership with I Love Public Schools makes sense,” Hannah Miller TeamMates Communications and Recruiting Coordinator shared about our t‑shirt fundraiser.
“We serve thousands of students in public schools, and these funds will give us the opportunity to put more mentors in schools.”
As we celebrate volunteers in the month of April, we want to shine a spotlight on an organization that was a part of our fundraising initiative, TeamMates Mentoring.
With mentors in more than 150 public school districts, TeamMates makes a large impact on Nebraska’s youth. Through their fundraiser, the Nebraska-based nonprofit sold over 250 shirts, raising funds for the continued support and growth of their mentorship programs.
In 2018, we started our I Love Public Schools Shirt Fundraising Program. Since its launch, more than 30 schools and organizations have participated to earn funds for their school or organization. From scholarship programs to new playgrounds, the funds from our fundraisers are contributing to student success.
Teachers, students, and parents participated in their fundraiserbut Miller shared many community members, mentors, and TeamMates coordinators chose to represent in the joint fundraising effort.
The customized black shirt with both the I Love Public Schools logo and TeamMates logo created buzz and the excitement from this limited edition project extended beyond Nebraska.
“We also love that even our Iowa, Kansas, Wyoming, and South Dakota friends can get in on the fun,” Miller shared about the fundraiser. “We see more and more chapters wanting to do a similar fundraiser for their community TeamMates programs.”
