When the school mascot gets involved in the #FeeltheLoveFriday surprise, you know it's going to be extra special!
It’s the first Friday of October and we were honored to highlight a wonderful educator at Parkview Heights Elementary, fourth-grade teacher Taylor Wymer!
Taylor has been an educator in the Papillion La Vista school district for four years now and you can sense the pride she has for her profession.
She is all about building relationships with her students. Her belief is that you can’t properly teach a child math and science unless you can show them how much you care that they understand these subjects.
Taylor is always looking out for her students’ well-being as she hopes she can help them grow into kind people with empathetic hearts. Parkview Heights Elementary is a PBIS school (Positive behavioral interventions and supports) so the staff is looking for students who promote the positive values of the school in order to encourage that behavior to continue.
Taylor takes this responsibility very seriously and is always looking for students that deserve a positive referral. You have to watch our conversation with her as she explains one incredible instance of a student showing leadership and empathy towards another student who was struggling with a subject.
How to celebrate Feel the Love Friday
On the first Friday of every month we ask educators, students, parents, and community members to wear their I Love Public Schools gear and share a memory or a story about their public school.
Each month we also highlight one school and surprise an exceptional educator from that school! Look for our posts throughout the day on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!
We are proud to announce that we have received a 2021 commendation from the American Association of School Librarians for advocacy work on behalf of school librarians in Nebraska.
