For this month’s Feel the Love Friday, we challenged parents, teachers, students, and alumni to share their favorite school traditions with us. Every day during the contest, we were overwhelmed by the stories shared! From every day feel-good moments to annual recognition ceremonies, check out our top favorites from the contest.

We love the encouragement this tradition brings to young students; pushing them to work hard to achieve their goals of graduation, no matter the obstacles.
Every year, students in Schuyler can count on having a friend who cares about them. When many schools across the state have adopted the #BeKind mantra it’s great to see this tradition is alive and well at Fisher.
Winside Public Schools instills respect and admiration for those who have served our country. Their traditions honor local Legion Post and Veterans through their annual Veterans Day and Memorial Day Programs.
Middle school is a hard transition. This tradition helps students prepare for the big step ahead: it recognizes fifth graders for their hard work, encourages them to be confident in their next step, and it gives younger students something to look forward to!
When looking for a new school for their children, parents have to weigh many options. Finding a good fit is different for every family. When the Mittelstet family learned of the Zeman Elementary Marathon, it helped them settle in Lincoln Public Schools. This tradition is just one reason why we love this story!
Students in Hershey share their stories with more than just their teacher and classmates. We love the creative ways teachers encourage family and friends to be invested in their student’s education.
