Toby Higgs of Bellevue East High has been teaching for over 30 years. As a student-athlete at Omaha South, he was one of my coaches. Fast forward several decades and he is a co-worker and mentor. He has been coaching and caring about kids tirelessly for this entire time. As a physical education teacher, football coach, and powerlifting coach, he has had a positive effect on the physical health of students for the rest of their lives. He retires this year and, hopefully, will spend his time outdoors and smoking meat--and delivering that BBQ to former students/colleagues.
