I've been teaching for almost fifty years. My favorite school tradition dates back to my Kindergarten class in 1954. Every day after lunch my teacher would have a read aloud to my entire K-8 school. Kindergarten rested on a mat while she did this. I continued this tradition when I started teaching Kindergarten in 1971 later with my First Grade class and now on Fridays with my Title classes.
