OPS' newest—and maybe only— fourth-grade teacher band is topping the charts at Dundee Elementary with their timely parody about school safety during COVID-19. As Omaha Public Schools got ready to return to in-person learning, these three teachers got together to try to solve a problem: putting a positive spin on wearing masks in school.

“We talked about as a team wanting to make sure the kids were thinking positively about masks, not like oh I have to wear this all day," teacher Alissa Christensen said, "So we thought maybe a funny video would help.” Christensen teamed up with Benjamin Darling and Kimberly Zimmerer to create "Mask Mask Baby" a clever rewrite of Vanilla Ice's "Ice Ice Baby" that's sure to get stuck in your head. The song quickly caught on and got students singing along, helping everyone keep their masks on and their spirits up.
