We're back with the first Feel the Love Friday celebration of 2022!
If you were looking for a heartwarming video to brighten your day, you will definitely want to watch this surprise.
We partnered with McCool Junction Public School to celebrate the career of first-grade teacher, Carolyn Newton. Carolyn is retiring this semester after 35-years as an educator.
If you are lucky enough to get to know Carolyn, it’s easy to tell how much joy she has as an educator. You can’t help but smile while hearing her share her favorite memories in education.
We are proud to be a small part in celebrating the amazing career of Carolyn Newton and hope she truly enjoys her upcoming retirement. Thank you to Principal Cody Wallinger for helping us celebrate the staff at McCool Junction Public School.
I love having students from my 35-year career come back and visit the school and talk about their time in the classroom. It’s also fun to have former students bring their own children into my classroom for First Grade. These chats always bring back many memories and smiles!”
— Carolyn Newton
We had a blast chatting with Carolyn about her education journey and what it’s like being a first-grade teacher!
If you were curious to hear what the younger generation is reading these days, check out this conversation because Carolyn has the inside scoop. (Don’t worry, Magic Treehouse is still a popular series!)
How to celebrate Feel the Love Friday
On the first Friday of every month we ask educators, students, parents, and community members to wear their I Love Public Schools gear and share a memory or a story about their public school.
Each month we also highlight one school and surprise an exceptional educator from that school! Look for our posts throughout the day on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!
