It's the first Friday of the month and we're celebrating the final Feel the Love Friday of the school year!
We are honored to celebrate Sally Schreiner, Administrator at the Nebraska Center for the Education of Children who are Blind and Visually Impaired (NCECBVI).
Sally is an extra special Feel the Love Friday Honoree as she is retiring at the end of this school year!
She may look familiar as she was in our film Lessons in Independence which came out originally in 2011 and was recently updated with never-before-seen footage.
One of the main points of pride for Sally is the prom she helped implement at the school. Students from around the state who are in special education programs can come to NCECBVI and have a fun celebration. They get hair and makeup done, ride in a limo, and of course, dance the night away!
Not only were we able to surprise Sally in person, but we also got to attend prom! Check out our fun LIVE conversation with this incomparable educator.
How to celebrate Feel the Love Friday
On the first Friday of every month we ask educators, students, parents, and community members to wear their I Love Public Schools gear and share a memory or a story about their public school.
Each month we also highlight one school and surprise an exceptional educator from that school! Look for our posts throughout the day on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!
