I Love Public Schools I Love Public Schools

Friday night home football games at Ashland- Greenwood Public Schools are full of rich traditions.

Hours before the game begins, the school band, cheerleaders and dance team are preparing for their 9 block march from the high school to the football field. As they make their way across town, community members step out of their homes to clap along to our original school fight song, “Blue and White”.

The traditional Friday night sound of the football players’ cleats as they walk hand-in-hand down the cement steps, lined by Bluejay fans, as they make their way into 75 year-old Memorial Stadium resonates through the night air.

At the conclusion of the game, the football team gathers around the student body, raise their helmets and sing the school fight song.

All of these unique traditions work to bring our community together. Go Big Blue!
