Miss Jacobsen, business teacher at Burwell High School leveled the playing field for me as a student. I was an average student who was inspired by Miss Jacobsen to study and get better grades. Not long into the year, I was getting the same grades as the "smart kids". It set me up to think that I could go to college and I could be a successful student. I became a business teacher and now a principal. She showed me that a little effort made a huge difference-it changed by life from possible poverty to a life I love.
