Hello my name is Lilly and last year not only was I a freshman experiencing a new school but experiencing masks all day long and the unknow COVID factor, which would lead to the new normal in school. It was a difficult time, but Mr. Leland Johnson, Biology teacher at Bellevue East put a smile on my face every other day that I had class with him. He showed the students in my class that everyone was experiencing a difficult time and everyone was learning to adjust even him. During his class we would have mask breaks that would sometimes take us outside and he would spend time getting to know us. He made a connection with us which made me more comfortable during this time of adjustments. To this day I remember some of the talks and lectures and it still puts a smile on my face!
