I Love Public Schools I Love Public Schools

A typical Friday, after marketing class

I used to call Mr. Gaylor my “school grandpa” because it was so easy to tell how much he cared about me—and the rest of the students in his class. He made his class a joy just by being himself and sharing stories like how he’d go through the McDonalds drive through every morning for a coffee and oatmeal. And sometimes he’d loop around to get a refill on the coffee before leaving the parking lot. My friends and I used to joke that he’d die in his classroom because we never thought he’d actually retire—he just loved that school and what he did too much. I’m beyond happy for Mr. Gaylor in his retirement. Thanks for making such a positive impact on my time at Central.
