I Love Public Schools I Love Public Schools

I have known since I was in third grade that I was going to grow up to be a teacher of Special Needs. I would play with the special needs population during recess in elementary school. In middle school I would work in the special needs room helping them with projects or just hanging out. During this time I was going through some rough times at home and a teacher, special education teacher at that, took me under her wing to help guide me in the right direction to handle my home life. I LOVED Mrs. Hohm! During high school I would give up my one study hall to go with the special education PE class and that is I KNEW without a doubt, this was what I was meant to do. Mrs. Land helped me develop my skills to work with this population of students. Today, I am in my 27th year of teaching special education. I have transitioned from elementary to high school but my love of students has not decreased at all. Thanks to Mrs. Hohm and Mrs. Land!
