Our school supports the 5th graders to attend the Kindness Retreat put on by Youth Frontiers every year. It is the first week of school so we start off the year on the path to being kind. Our class job “motivational speaker” shares a kindness challenge each week with the class (provided by Youth Frontiers) and spends the week looking for acts of kindness. They hand out kindness boomerang stickers as a way to recognize those students caught being kind. It stays the focus of our whole year.
