During Arts and Humanities Month, we reflect on how art affects our daily lives. From museums and sculpture gardens to murals on buildings across town, art is everywhere. Without art educators to encourage students’ creativity, we may not have these beautiful pieces.

Below are five art educators in Nebraska whose content on Instagram, Twitter, and Youtube shows us exactly why the arts are important for our schools. 

Hannah Beck is an Elementary Art & Interventions Teacher at Aurora Elementary School. When schools closed during the pandemic, Hannah took action to make sure her students were still able to create beautiful art at home. Her Youtube channel has some fun, interactive lessons that everyone in the family can enjoy!

The Nebraska Art Teachers Association recently announced its 2020 Art Educators of the year. Marisa McClintock of Alice Buffett Magnet Middle School was named the Middle School Art Educator of the Year! Check out some of the work she highlights from her students on her Twitter.
