Harry Gaylor is synonymous with Central. He has given more of himself to the school than I’m sure he would even admit. The number of students that he has taught and inspired over the years are quite honestly mind-boggling. I remember sitting next to him and Tim Shipman (another great Central retiree) at a Central basketball game and Tim asked, “Harry, how many high school concession stand hot dogs do you suppose you’ve had in your career?” Harry replied “too many”.
He is a person who would do anything for you. I will miss our frequent football conversations, that somehow always ended up being about wrestling! He is part of a generation that gave so much to the profession but didn’t feel like they were doing anything special. But I want to let you know Harry, you are special. Congratulations and best wishes.
